FlashBack Friday

FlashBack Friday to some of my favorite Date Looks

Starting from Left to Right

1. Maxi Dress in Aztec Print- This is a great dress for anything because it is super comfy and is a great length because you can dress it up with heels or dress it down with flats.
2. Little Orange Dress- I wore this dress to a play and dinner. It can be as dressy as you would like for it to be.
3. Black Sundress with Blue Sweater- A classic look and you can add a pop color with a sweater and shoes.
4.  Flowy Two Tone Dress with Sweater- This dress is a great dress to go from work to play in. It has a high round neckline and is styled like a tank top.
5. One Shoulder Purple Party Dress- This dress is great for special occasions because of the one shoulder and flower accents.

The blue shoes I ordered from David's Bridal. They have come in handy and are super comfortable for them being high heels. I love the little bow accent.

DIY Picture Frame

So I have a couple of friends from church having birthdays this next week so I was trying to think of a birthday present that was thoughtful but not too expensive. I decided on decorating a picture frame (modge podge and bling) and then taking a picture of the group at dinner to put in it. I thought this would be a special gift for the gals to remember their birthdays by.

First I started with some basic picture frames that I found at Hobby Lobby (picture frames are always half off!). Then I found some great paper that had a detail that matched the color of the frames. I also picked up some Modge Podge and  some bling to add on the picture frame.

When I got home I started by tracing the outline of the picture frames. To do this tape a piece of computer paper on the frame and use a crayon to trace the edges of the frame. Then I cut out this for a template so I didn't mess up the paper I was going to put on the frames. After I got this cut out I taped it on the back of the paper and traced it and then cut it out.

Next I used Modge Podge to glue the paper on the frame to decorate it. Put a pretty thick layer on the bottom for the paper to stick to and then after it is stuck go over the top to make it shiny and pretty. You will have to do this several types letting it dry in between times.

Last, it is time to add the bling. On the frames that I did I hot glued rhinestones and flowers. I used the rhinestones to add initials of the gals and the age that they are turning.

Panna Cotta

So I was watching Masterchef the other day and one of the competetions was to make Panna Cotta. I had never heard of this before but it seemed fairly easy to make so I found a great recipe and went to town. It took a little bit to get used to the texture of it because it is like pudding with a jello consistency. But it has a great taste and blackberries on top are definitely
a must have.  The recipe I used was on foodnetwork.com by Giada. I typed up the recipe below.

1 Cup of Whole Milk
1 Tablespoon Unflavored Gelatin Powder
3 Cups of Heavy Whipping Cream
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1/3 Cup of Honey
Pinch of Salt

Place the milk in a pan on the stove (leave off for now) and sprinkle with the gelatin powder. Let this stand for 4 minutes. Then turn on the stove and cook until the gelatin dissolves. Make sure not to boil the milk. Add the other ingredidents. Simmer on the stove for 6 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Make sure not to boil. Place in bowls and put in the fridge to get firm (about 6 hours or overnight). When ready to serve, top with fresh berries or jam.

A 4th of July Makeup Look

For me personally, there are two times a year that I can pull off red lipstick. These two times are 4th of July and Christmas. Since it was just 4th of July, I wanted to share with yall my makeup look. I like to incorporated red white and blue into my look and be very festive and patriotic. I use my skin mostly as the white because I am so pale. I also used a white shimmer for under my eyebrows. For the blue I went with blue eye shadow on my eyelids. Lastly for the red I went with a bright red for my lips. For this look I went with white shimmer, blue shimmer, and a lip stain. I used the lip stain so I would not have to reapply

For my makeup I generally buy a better quality of base makeup or foundation and then use less expensive makeup for my colors like eye shadow and lipstick.

A 4th of July/Rodeo Look

I love the 4th of July and Rodeos so what better than when the to merge together. Yesterday was the 1st Rodeo of the Ozarks parade. For my look I went with my cowboy boots, navy blue tank top, and navy blue printed white shorts. Add on a blinged out star cowboy hat and you are ready to go!
